2tablespoonssesame seeds (toasted for added flavor)
to tastesalt and pepper
for servingcooked rice (optional)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set this aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of sesame oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the trimmed green beans. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the green beans. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and stir well to coat everything. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the top and give it a gentle toss.
Serve the sesame chicken and green beans over cooked rice if desired, garnished with extra sesame seeds or green onions if available.
Notes
Serve in a large bowl or on individual plates, garnished with fresh cilantro or green onions for added color.
